NetSource is SAS 70 Type II compliant in 2010. NetSource has finished the process to become compliant in April of 2010. This is great news for existing NetSource customers, and many Chicago (Naperville) businesses looking for a datacenter with this important certification. This compliance will allow business customers to host their important data at NetSource, and allow them pass their own internal audits at a much lower cost.
SAS 70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SAS 70 is an acronym for ‘Statement of Auditing Standards’. NetSource is undergoing the more advanced SAS 70 Type II audit because we feel it is an important step to help our customer’s growth, and provide proof for the quality of service we offer.
A SAS 70 Type II audit would confirm that NetSource’s data center security and operational procedures have been reviewed and tested by an independent certified public accounting firm. This procedure validates that the datacenter’s controls and processes currently in place have been tested thoroughly, and then been painstakingly documented by an auditing company. This process helps to safeguard our customer’s equipment, including their mission critical data. By verifying processes in advance, we reduce the risk of center failures and oversights, which is the primary goal. The audit will also verify that NetSource is taking the correct steps in managing our business and our customer’s services. A formal report will be issued to NetSource at the conclusion of the SAS 70 Type II examination with detailed documentation about the audit’s conclusion. NetSource is well on our way to adding this important credential.
NetSource has been providing mission critical hosting services since 1995. This is just another step in a series that will allow NetSource and our customers to grow. We are adding this to our existing certifications including PCI-DSS compliance for a service provider. Please contact NetSource if you have any questions about our audit, and we would be happy to discuss this in more detail.
